Begin the shift by loading the 512 printer with the designated media roll prepared by the night shift. Ensure the media is correctly aligned and securely installed. Once loaded, perform a Long purge to eliminate any residual ink or obstructions in the print heads. Following the purge, initiate the scheduled print run.
Once the 512 printer is in operation start purging the D4 (only if there is work to print). Once Purged start running any missing or same day work otherwise continue on to the next days work.
After confirming that both the 512 and D4 printers are running smoothly, transition to the Colorado printers. Follow the guide In the Colorado page here.
All active printers must be visually inspected every 10 minutes. During each inspection, check for print quality, material alignment, ink levels, and any irregularities. Address any issues immediately to minimize downtime and maintain output consistency.
During periods of machine inactivity, operators are expected to complete the following support tasks:
Restock low or depleted consumables, including:
Purge Wipe Fluid
Cleaning Wipes
Isopropyl Alcohol (ISO)
Create or update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed. Ensure all documentation reflects current best practices and complies with safety and quality standards.
The 3S method is derived from the 5S lean manufacturing principle, focusing on Sort, Sweep, and Standardize to improve workplace organization and productivity. This is a mandatory task for every shift team member and must be completed daily.
Sort: Identify and remove unnecessary tools, materials, and items from the work area.
Sweep: Clean the workstations, tools, and surrounding areas. Ensure that all debris, waste, and clutter are removed.
Standardize: Follow documented procedures to maintain orderliness and cleanliness consistently across all shifts.
D4 Room: Refer to the 5S instruction sheet located next to the shelf near the printer.
512 Printer Area: Refer to the 5S instruction sheet located next to the operator’s station.
Colorado Printer Area: Refer to the 5S instruction sheet placed near the dustpans and other cleaning tools.
Handover between morning and afternoon shift ( Issues, fixes, progress and other print related things)
